Apostolic Society

Apostolic Work was founded in 1923 to help missionaries in Africa.
The Archdiocese of Armagh became involved in Apostolic Work in 1939 and now has 30 branches. The local branch was founded in 1970 under the guidance of the late Canon McKee and after a short lapse was re-constituted with the help of the late Fr. Henry Devlin.

The members produce articles for use on the Missions in all parts of the world i.e. vestments, Altar cloths, Altar linens.  They also fund raise to purchase articles for Church use - Mass Kits, Sacred Vessels, Missals etc., and to provide cash help for Mission projects e.g. building health clinics, churches and schools.

The current branch officers are:
President:     Mrs. Mary McDonnell Tel. No. 028 3026 5791
Vice President:     Mrs. Gertie O'Neill
Secretary:     Mrs. Alice Reilly

The Upper/Middle Killeavy branch welcomes new members.  The group meets weekly on Tuesday night at 7.30 pm in the Parish Centre, Drumalane.
