The Parish Core Group came into being in March 2004, after a process of invitation and discussion within the parish community. The group consists of twelve members as well as the Parish Ministry team. The purpose of the core group is best defined by our mission statement, which clearly states that, Our Mission, as Laity, Priests and Sisters is to build a Christian Community, to be appreciative of the gifts of its members, enabling them to serve the needs and concerns of our parish and wider community. |

The group was formed in January 2004 out of parish area meetings to discern need, issues and areas of interest. There are fifteen members in the group - all very active, hard working and enthusiastic. At the first meeting the aim of the group was defined as follows: • To help the poor at home and abroad. • Involvement of the parish community to support projects in countries where people are suffering because of poverty.
